Rita Etheridge, age 61, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was born on December 27, 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Mitchell Ray and Betty Jean Davis Ray.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Etheridge of Chatsworth; son, Freddie McCutcheon of Chatsworth; daughters and sons in law, Tennie Angela Scroggins Grogan and Lee of Chatsworth, Joyce April Spivey of Chatsworth, Tara and Scotty Howe of Dalton; brother, Richard McKinley Ray of Chatsworth; sister and brother in law, MaryAnn and Rickey Rainey of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Tiffany and Anthony Hickman, Dustin and Carolina McCutcheon, Elijah and Isaac Howe, Chloe and Kayleigh Holmes, Brandon Fowler and 7 other grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rita Etheridge will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron David officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM Tuesday evening. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S. Glenwood Ave. Dalton, GA: 706-529-5371.

    Bubba (Freddie), So saddened by the passing of your Mom. I went to the Funeral home this morning and signed the guest register and saw your sisters Angie and April (A.J.) Rita was beautiful and looked so at peace. She will truly be missed by many. Love you, Kenny Hall
